Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad Admissions in Master’s Programme Regular / Self Finance Basis Spring Semester 2013
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must possess at least a second class bachelor‘s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university subject to a condition that the applicants meet requirements of major subject passed in the bachelor’s Degree as detailed in the Prospectus of this university. Admissions shall be made on merit and as per regional quota.
Applicants, who are more than 26 –year old, shall not be eligible for admissions in any programme of study of this university unless granted relaxation by the Vice-Chancellor for special reasons on recommendations of the Chairpersons/Directors/Heads of Departments.
Subject Priorities shall not be changed after the due date. However, an applicant can opt for a maximum of three priorities of subjects either on Regular OR on Self finance and/or on both basis in the same subjects.
INELIGIBILITY
The following are not eligible for admission to Master’s programme:
1) Those who have failed in Master’s Programme of this University;
2) Those who have ceased to be the student of this University;
3) Those who already possess a Master’s or an equivalent degree from this or any other University (exempted for applicants of Computer Science, Physics (Self-Finance);
4) Students who are already on rolls of the M.Sc. Programme of this University or any other University.
5) Four anthropology/Sociology, applicants with any degree of more than 14-years are not eligible.
SEATS AVAILABLE ON SELF FINANCE BASIS ON OPEN MERIT
Some additional Seats on Self Finance basis to be filled strictly on merited would be offered in each discipline.
RESERVED SEATS
One seat in each department of the University is reserved for admission of the children of Army Personnel and would be offered ONLY on the nomination of GHQ.
One seat in each department of the University is reserved for Minorities subject to production of certificate from the Institution last attended that the candidate belongs to the Minority Community. One seat in each department of the University is reserved for admission of disabled persons subject to the condition that the disabled person must provide his/her disability certificate issued by the District Assessment Board along with other conditions as approved by the University Statutory Bodies.
WRITTEN TESTS: Applicants shall be required to take written test and pass it with at least 40% marks as per schedule given below. Only those, who pass the written test will be considered for admission. Admissions shall be determined purely on merit basis without giving any credit to the test score. Applicants appearing for the written Test must bring original CNIC &Admission from Receipt for identification and official use.
