  • Developing, reviewing and maintaining procedures for implementation of market risk management policies. 
  • Providing feedback on - reviewing the treasury and investment policies.

  • Assessing the investment portfolio and reporting the results of assessments to the Head Market & Liquidity Risk Management for necessary feedback to the business units 
Responsibilities related to Asset & Liability Management / Liquidity Risk
  • Proposing liquidity risk management strategies for approval by the competent authorities;
  • Developing liquidity risk management policies/procedures considering the regulatory requirements and the generally accepted practices;
  • Developing a liquidity risk/ ALM limit framework, in coordination with the respective business and other functions and ensuring its consistent implementation by deploying an effective monitoring mechanism;
  • Assessing the portfolio from liquidity risk aspects, advising on the ALM aspects and reporting the results to the authorities concerned;
  • Responsible for monitoring of approved ALCO ratios/ limits and escalate the same to ALCO members once trigger is breached. Ensure that the limits approved on time after receiving relevant feedback from stakeholders.
  • Developing liquidity risk/ ALM analytics, portfolio management and reporting framework and ensuring that the same are used consistently for systematic liquidity risk profiling;
  • Performing Basel III Impact studies. Responsible for preparing LCR portion of Basel III reporting and performing quarterly QIS. Ensure coordination with treasury for timely submission of LCR templates
  • Reviewing the Contingency Funding Plan and other ALM related policies developed and providing feedback during the process
Market Risk Middle Office (Responsibilities):
  • Preparing periodical market risk reports for senior management and ALCO 
  • Monitoring compliance with the market risk management policies and procedures of the business units, as approved by the competent authorities 
  • Monitoring various regulatory and internal limits of different business groups/ divisions/ functions of the bank pertaining to market risk and reporting of variances/ exceptions 
  • Monitoring and tracking any re-designation or movement of positions between the trading and banking books 
  • Maintaining and developing an effective database for performance of risk analyses 
  • Facilitating coordination with relevant functions for implementation of middle office functionalities
Qualifications & Skills Required for the positins
Soft skills including  Good inter-personal and presentation skills, and a self starter and team player with strong I.T. skills plus Technical skills that are required are as under:
  • A qualified risk professional MBA in Finance / BS Actuarial Science from top Business Schools. CFA/FRM will be an added advantage. 
  • 5 -7 years of Banking experience on the same position. 
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills with experience of risk management concepts in market & liquidity risk management. 
  • Familiarity with SBP regulations / circulars, international pronouncements on risk / Basel II & Basel -III. 
  • Strong knowledge of all treasury products (Conventional & Islamic) 
  • Hands on with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
